Photographs that match, visit to visit

SurgiMD overlays a translucent 3D head guide for every pose in the series so the patient's angle, framing, and distance are the same at baseline, one week, and six months.

  • Full face + neck pose series: frontal, both 45° obliques, both 90° profiles, upgaze, downgaze, gentle eye closure, brow elevation, close-ups, and neck views
  • Adjustable guide transparency on every pose
  • Two-axis levelling: yellow level line for roll, green badge for pitch — the same discipline as the native iPhone camera
  • Composition grid (3×3 / 4×4) and a fixed 1:1 framing box with the feed blurred outside — you shoot exactly what will be saved

Before & after comparison

Comparison that holds up in clinic

Put any two visits side by side. Pinch to zoom, drag a slider to blend before and after, and use smart face-detection zoom to frame the same region on both images.

  • Side-by-side view with synchronized zoom
  • Blend slider between before and after
  • Smart face-detection zoom frames the same region on both images
  • All edits — crop, rotation, framing — are non-destructive; the original file is never rewritten

From face mesh to millimetres, automatically

A neural face mesh locks onto periocular anatomy, generates every landmark, and proposes the measurements. You confirm each value; nothing is measured by hand.

  • A mesh of hundreds of points, refined by surgeon-confirmed corrections
  • MRD1, MRD2, fissure, brow height and levator function, per eye
  • True millimetre scale from the iPhone depth sensor, no stickers

The full toolkit

Every claim below maps to a shipped feature

No vaporware. If it's on this page, it's in the app today.

True native camera quality

Full sensor resolution with Deep Fusion detail and high-quality JPEG encoding — the same fidelity as the stock iPhone camera, with torch/flash control and an optional also-save-to-Photos toggle.

Dynamic-function video

Record short clips of blink, lid-lag, and lagophthalmos alongside the still series — stored in the same patient record.

Collage builder & Portfolio

Four tuned layouts, optional per-cell labels, saved straight to the patient's Before & After. The Portfolio auto-categorises by surgery type — no hashtags, no manual tagging.

Consent & audit trail

Photography and treatment consent per patient; every action written to a tamper-evident, hash-chained audit log. Exports pass a consent gate; EXIF/GPS is stripped.

Secure cloud backup & device change

Automatic full-library backup — records, photos, clips, before/afters, consents, measurements, audit trail — with one-tap restore on a new device and sync across your devices.

Privacy, security & compliance

Encrypted on device and in the cloud, per-clinic data segregation, EXIF/GPS stripped. Aligned with GDPR, HIPAA, and Dubai Health Authority requirements.

Teams & clinics

Work solo or as a clinic. The account owner controls membership; colleagues share a patient library while other clinics stay completely separate.

Platform & sign-in

Native iOS app for iPhone. Sign in with Apple, Google, or a passwordless email code. Notifications on or off in Settings.

What surgeons ask before switching

What is SurgiMD?

SurgiMD is a native iPhone app for aesthetic and oculoplastic surgeons to capture standardized before-and-after photographs of the face and neck, compare them over time, and store patient images, measurements, and consent securely.

How does SurgiMD keep before and after photos aligned?

It overlays a translucent 3D head guide for each pose and shows a two-axis level (a yellow line for side-to-side tilt and a green badge for forward/back lean), plus a grid and a fixed 1:1 framing box, so every visit is shot at the same angle, distance, and framing.

Which poses can I capture?

The face and neck series includes frontal, both 45° obliques, both 90° profiles, upgaze, downgaze, gentle eye closure, brow elevation, left and right close-ups, and neck frontal, oblique, lateral, and extension views.

Are the photos the same quality as the iPhone camera?

Yes. SurgiMD captures at the device's full sensor resolution with Deep Fusion detail and high-quality JPEG encoding — the same fidelity as the stock camera, not a compressed in-app image.

Can I also save captures to my phone's camera roll?

Yes. A Settings toggle saves a copy of each capture to the Photos library in addition to the encrypted patient record.

Can I record video for functional assessment?

Yes. You can record short clips — blink, lid-lag, lagophthalmos — stored in the same patient record as the stills.

Can I import photos I already took?

Yes. Use "Add more photos" to bring existing images into a patient's session.

How do I compare before and after images?

Open two visits side by side, drag a slider to blend them, and pinch or use smart face-detection zoom to frame the same region on both. All adjustments are non-destructive.

Can I make a before-and-after collage?

Yes. The collage builder offers four layouts; save the result to the patient's Before & After, and it appears in your Portfolio.

How is the Portfolio organised?

Automatically by the surgery type you selected for the patient — no hashtags or manual tagging. You can filter by procedure type.

What patient information can I store?

Name, medical record number, date of birth and age, surgery date, biological sex, laterality, contact details, allergies, a bleeding-risk medication alert, notes, comorbidities, and per-visit clinical data.

How are sessions organised over time?

By clinical stage — Baseline/Pre-op, Intra-op, Post-op Day 3, 1 week, 2 weeks, 1/3/6 months, and Follow-up — derived automatically from the surgery date.

Does SurgiMD support oculoplastic measurements?

Yes. You can record MRD1, MRD2, palpebral fissure height, levator function, lagophthalmos, and an NRS pain score for each visit.

Does the app handle patient consent?

Yes. Photography and treatment consent are stored per patient, and exporting a photo passes through a consent gate.

Is there an audit trail?

Yes. Every action is written to a tamper-evident, hash-chained audit log, so any change to history is detectable.

Is SurgiMD HIPAA compliant?

SurgiMD is built to align with HIPAA, along with GDPR and Dubai Health Authority requirements: encrypted storage, per-clinic data segregation, consent capture, an audit trail, and EXIF/GPS stripping.

Is my data encrypted?

Yes — patient data is encrypted on the device and in the cloud, and image location metadata (EXIF/GPS) is removed from stored and exported photos.

What happens if I change or lose my phone?

Your entire library — records, photos, clips, before/afters, consents, measurements, and audit trail — is backed up to encrypted cloud storage and restored on your new device with one tap.

Does SurgiMD sync across my devices?

Yes. Your patient library stays in sync across the devices you sign in on.

Can other clinics see my patients?

No. Data is segregated per clinic; one clinic's patients are never visible to another account.

Can my clinic team share a patient library?

Yes. The account owner controls clinic membership, and colleagues in the same clinic share the library while other clinics remain separate.

How much does SurgiMD cost?

There's a free plan for up to 15 patients with full standardized capture and comparison, and a Pro plan with unlimited patients, the measurement toolkit, and cloud backup & sync.

Is pricing based on how many photos I store?

No. The plan is based on the number of patients — capture as many photos per patient as a case needs.

What devices does SurgiMD run on?

It's a native iOS app for iPhone.

How do I sign in?

With Apple, Google, or a passwordless email code.

Is SurgiMD good for plastic surgeons, or only oculoplastic?

Both. It started in oculoplastic (periocular) surgery and now covers the full face and neck, so it suits aesthetic and plastic surgeons documenting facial procedures.

Does exporting a photo leak the patient's location?

No. EXIF and GPS metadata are stripped, so a shared image carries no location or device data.

Your outcomes deserve evidence,
not estimates.

Join the surgeons documenting results with instrument-grade consistency.
